Picture yourself surrounded by the colors, warmth and beauty of lush Costa Rica. Start you morning with a pranayama (breathing) and meditation class, followed by a leisurely breakfast of fresh, organic, delicious foods. After breakfast, stroll through the adjacent coffee plantation, read a book or take time to journal.
The first asana yoga class of day will take you on a journey of movement that is both therapeutic and refreshing. After class, enjoy a short workshop on the wonderful toolbox for healing that yoga and ayurveda have to offer.
Lunch brings more tasty options for healthy eating. After lunch, perhaps you choose to sit by the pool, indulge in a spa or ayurvedic body treatment, sleep or head out for an excursion. Afternoons bring choices of workshops and wonderful yoga nidra/restorative yoga.
Each meal will be prepared to follow ayurvedic cleansing guidelines. We have worked closely with the amazing chef at Pura Vida to create a menu that will cleanse the body, stimulate and satisfy the palate and increase sattwa (contentment) in us all.
Evenings will offer more opportunities for dancing, drumming and meditation.
Additionally, you’ll receive a cleanse booklet which outlines all of the daily self-care practices (dinacharya) that will support your body in a springtime cleanse. Before we leave, you’ll receive a list of ayurvedic herbs and oils that you can bring with you to assist cleansing at all levels of your being. Karen Quinn will be available to answer questions prior to the retreat about your personal dosha (constitution) and what will give you the most support on this cleansing journey.
