Remember everyone who loved you into being

Valentines day can be a special day where we celebrate our connection with our partner but it can also be a day of sadness, anger or loneliness.

Perhaps we’re deeply missing a partner who has died and feeling the weight of love that can’t be shared gathering in our body with no place to go.

Maybe we are uncoupled and feel alone, depressed or sad.  It’s easy to feel hurt and vulnerable if we don’t have a “Valentine”.

Mr. Rogers powerful message

It’s easy to forget that we have all had people in our lives that have ,as Mr. Rogers said, “Loved us into being”.   They are everywhere in our lives and sometimes in the most unexpected ways.

Sometimes those people are so good at loving that they make us feel complete, accepted and whole.

Sometimes, we have people in our lives who are themselves so wounded that they’ve forgotten or perhaps never learned how to love themselves.  Maybe all we can do is to love them into being and hope that someday they will remember that feeling and reflect it inward.

Just close your eyes

This simple act brings the abundance of love right into our heart.   Can you close your eyes and for just a few seconds remember all those who loved you into being?
